A few years back, with the boom of the dot.com mania, some people had believed that the digital media would suck the oxygen out of the traditional print media. Now it looks like that this would never happen. Big tech companies; Google,Amazon, Microsoft and Yahoo have jumped on the online bandwagon, bringing thousands of the print volumes to your fingertips.
As book lovers, we can enjoy the fun of the big portals offering incentives to catch our attention. Google is offering a searchable database of book extracts and Amazon makes it possible to view parts of pages or chapters before you buy them. Microsoft and Yahoo will soon launch their campaigns to entice our interest. So, let us keep on reading.
