Who are these people? According to Dr. Martha Stout's " THE SOCIOPATH NEXT DOOR", they do not suffer the burden of a conscience, they are not blind to social mores or emotions of others. They cannot feel but they can imitate. They have an outstanding abililty to charm and seduce their followers. They do not recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible.
According to Dr. Stout, US has 11.7 million Sociopaths and New York City is home to 320,000 of them. These are alarming figures. Not all Sociopaths are violent criminals. These people have an undetected mental disorder. They have no ability whatsover to feel guilt, shame or remorse. They are all around us. They are fake characters.
