John Lennon's title song comes to mind as I write this piece from Bangalore, still reeling from last wednesday's terror attack in which a gunmen entered the nation's prestigious Indian Institue Of Science in Bangalore, opened fire and killed a respected mathematics professor who had come in to attend a sminar. My heart goes out to the professor's family and I condemn this barbaric action.
As the world welcomes the new year celebrations the mood here isn't damp though understandably some nervousness does prevail with a higher level of security visibly present in strategic areas.
Terror from an unseen enemy is the biggest threat facing the world now. Religious zealots and ideological fanatics and their agenda must be defeated to allow peace and harmony between the communities of the world.
