Complacency- A Rehash of My Previous Post

"Complacency is a form of slavery, binding one to a living death of inaction, non participation and default. The shackles are easy to slip into. They are comfortabale chains because they require nothing but your disinterest and indifference."

The above is an abstract from the book "Life By Design" by Dr. Rick Kirschner and Dr. Rick Brinkman.

The book gives an example to support the above stated view illustrating ' a frog experiment.' The frogs were put into a pond. The water temperature of the pond was gradually raised. The idea was to see at what temparature the frogs will jump out and leave the pond. Surprisingly every time the temperature was raised the frogs adjusted to the new level and did not leave the pond. This continued until the frogs finally got roasted in the pond.

This example demonstrates the consequences of inaction and disinterest.

Very true. Such an interesting post. Guess it's easier for that to happen for a lot of people at the same time. like say a whole country.

Yes, complacency can happen to a whole country unless citizens in the civil society speak up for their rights.
